When I came across palazzo pants for the first time, I had no idea what they were even being called. I just saw wide-legged pants that looked ridiculously comfortable and knew that they had to be mine. For those wondering, I am not a fashionista by any means so what I think really doesn't give palazzo pants any credibility. My wardrobe mainly consists of soft cotton shirts and tank tops with funny or clever sayings on them, sundresses, leggings, yoga pants, and now palazzo pants, and I am lucky enough to work from home.
But then, I saw my friends talking about them! My teacher friends are wearing them to school (and children are mistaking them for PJs in some cases), I'm seeing them everywhere out in town, and they keep coming out with new and beautiful prints for them! I'm all about wearing beautiful, comfortable clothing, so I could really get on board the whole palazzo pant train.
I was also pretty relieved that when I looked up palazzo pants on Urban Dictionary that they didn't have a derogatory entry. Phew, I think they're here to stay! I also noticed that the entry was dated from 2006, so they're not an entirely new thing either. Leave it to me to feel like I'm on the cutting edge of fashion for once to just realize that I'm, like always, behind the curve. Ah well, I always just wear what I like anyway. Will you be wearing palazzo pants this season?
