Tonight, the unthinkable happened. After voicing my displeasure on Applebee's Facebook page, I was banned. Why was I banned? Because I was critical of their food, their drinks, the PR team, and the way they treat their wait staff. So of course, I switched to the profile that I manage my business with, and I made another post to let them know that they can't get rid of me so easily. I'm sure they would ban me from their establishments if they could, but that won't be necessary. Of course, I was promptly banned a second time. It didn't even take five minutes.
The post that got me banned...the second time.
Now, I didn't want to believe that they could sink this low, but it appears that not only are they banning people, but that their PR team has encouraged the people that work there to like the page and post positive comments. If you told me that their PR team was, in fact, actually creating fake profiles to inflate their likes and make positive comments, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. I didn't want to believe it either, but then I found this gem:
Now, I don't know about you, but this doesn't seem like the way to run a corporation to me. Firing someone over something so petty (after your company did it and deleted the evidence too) when she should have just been disciplined, arguing with potential customers after releasing stupid statements sticking up for the customer who had a portion of her receipt posted, lying about why the waitress was fired, treating employees like garbage to begin with, using pre-made pre-portioned frozen food and charging out the butt for it, deleting negative comments from customers, banning customers...the list goes on and on. My kids could have handled this better, and they're 9 and 6!
Needless to say, I won't be back Applebee's. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever.
